Franz Clement: Violin Concerto No. 2 in D minor Közzététel: 2015. szept. 24.
It is my sincere desire that any and all remuneration that I might be due be forwarded to the performers.
Franz Clement (1780-1842)
Violin Concerto No. 2 in D minor (1810)
I. Moderato 0:00 II. Adagio 18:10 III. Rondo: Allegro 25:25
Margarete Adorf, violin Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern Reinhard Goebel, conductor
Franz Joseph Clement (November 17 or 18?, 1780 – November 3, 1842), was an Austrian violinist, pianist, composer, conductor of Vienna's Theater an der Wien and friend of Ludwig van Beethoven.
A talented violinist from a young age, he was known for his extraordinary ability to play complex pieces from memory after only briefly viewing them. He would alternate his virtuoso performances with lighthearted showmanship, with such intermission antics as playing a sonata on one string with the violin upside-down. A critic in 1805 described his unique style as follows:
"His is not the marked, bold, strong playing, the moving, forceful Adagio, the powerful bow and tone which characterise the Rode-Viotti School; rather, his playing is indescribably delicate, neat and elegant; it has an extremely delightful tenderness and cleanness that undoubtedly secures him a place among the most perfect violinists. At the same time, he has a wholly individual lightness, which makes it seem as if he merely toys with the most incredible difficulties, and a sureness that never deserts him for a moment, even in the most daring passages."
Beethoven became acquainted with Clement in 1794 when he attended a performance in Vienna by the prodigy, then just 14.
It was at Theater an der Wien's benefit concert of April 7, 1805 that Beethoven first publicly conducted his Eroica symphony. At the same performance, Clement premiered his own violin concerto in D Major, one of Clement's six known violin concertos.
Clement went on to commission Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D Major from his friend for the next benefit concert, given on December 23, 1806. It is said that Beethoven worked on it up until shortly before the performance, and that Clement played the piece without rehearsing.
Though he was a very successful touring virtuoso and conductor for a time, he seems to have gone into a premature decline and was soon earning an average living not in keeping with his potential. He died on November 3, 1842, at (almost) age 62. |

(English notes below)
a_osiander(at)gmx.net / www.andreas-osiander.net
The four-part setting in this recording is by August Wilhelm Bach (1796-1869), the organist of St Mary's Church in Berlin and later director of the Royal Institute of Music.
This hymn is a versification by Martin Luther of the Lord's Prayer. The final version was published in 1539; Luther had previously amended it several times over the years, as shown by extant manuscripts. The origin of the tune is unclear. Luther may have adapted an existing melody.
I will continue to upload hymn settings from the 1830 Berliner Choral-Buch. The playlist is here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list... |

I. Massig - Mit Majestat - 00:00 II. Leicht Und So Schnell Als Moglich - 22:39 III. Zeimlich Langsam - 30:26 IV. Zeimlich Gehalten - 44:06
Reznicek studied law and music simultaneously in Graz. He did not finish his law degree, but continued to study music, his teacher being Wilhelm Mayer (also known as W. A. Rémy). Subsequently, he conducted at the theater in Graz, in Berlin and a few other places. From 1886 to 1894 he was Kapellmeister of the 88th Infantry of Prague, and it was here that he saw his greatest triumph with the premiere of Donna Diana (16 December 1894). In the spring of 1902 he settled in Berlin, touring to Russia and England from time to time. When the Nazi Party came to power in 1933, Reznicek tried not to become involved, but stayed in Berlin.
Reznicek was a personal friend of Richard Strauss. However, the relation between the two seems to have been an ambivalent one. Reznicek's symphonic poem Schlemihl (1912) can be seen as a direct parody of Strauss' A Hero's Life. The use of (often sarcastic) humor is a feature of much of Reznicek's music, from the jibbering Blaubart in the opera Ritter Blaubart through the sardonic Dance around the Golden Calf from Der Sieger (1913) to the expressionist Tarantella last movement of his Dance Symphony (No. 5, 1925). This Eulenspiegelei (a reference to the literary prankster Till Eulenspiegel) frequently got him into trouble in a world that was unaccustomed to the use of humour in music and art.
Ferdinand von Reznicek was his half-brother. |

Richard Wagner is megmondta: "ifj. Johann Strauss műveinek is csak egy bajuk van: AZ HOGY NEM ÉN --WAGNER--SZERZETTEM ŐKET!" S amit Richard Wagner mond a zenében és a zenéről, annak súlya van--mondjon akárki akármit is. |

Mi a túrót eszik maga ezen a giccsparádén? Égjenek a pokolban örök időkig. Rózsák meg szegfűk rogyásig, na ja, újévi koncerten milyen díszlet is felelne meg bécsben? Aztán a ripacs karmester. Postakocsi-polka. Passzolt volna a sorba. |

August Lanner: D'ersten Gedanken, Walzer Op.1 Feltöltés: 2009. márc. 8.
http://www.planet-vienna.com/Musik/mu...
Jh. in Wien wohl anders ausgesehen.
_________________________
August (formerly Augustin) Lanner was Joseph Lanners son. August a was very talented musician. He conducted his fathers orchestra at the age of 8. Unfortunately he died at the age of 20. This waltz (First thoughts) is a precious demonstration of Augusts skills.
